The vertical  woven panels  (approx. 80” tall) are part of a series exploring the potential of color in defining space and creating a mood.  The technique used is a variation of the “ikat” process, a traditional method of applying color and imagery to cloth by binding or tying the warp prior to weaving.  A sense of space and movement is controlled by sequential color changes.

In the horizontal panels, entitled the ODYSSEY Series the woven fabric becomes the background for applications of paint, embroidery and surface applique of light weight cloth and laces.  The overall intent is the suggestion of a convoluted journey over time and space.
